A mint on your pillow. A cherry on top.
The afterglow of a great workout.
When that dress you’ve always loved zips up just right.
A hug, topped off with a kiss.
An extra rep for good measure. An extra shot in your latte.
Something small. Something special.
Lagniappe (ˈlan-ˌyap) is a Cajun word used to describe those special occasions where you get a little bit more than you’re expecting.
Because sometimes, all it takes is little extra to make life a lot better.
The philosophy behind my personal training and running coaching is grounded in the belief that feeling better about your body can be the Lagniappe that changes your life. Whether it’s extra confidence, a faster time, a new personal best, or even a feeling of preparedness for that big event on the horizon, investing in fitness training is a way to bring a lot to your life, by adding a little something special to your training.
Hi, I’m Kourtney.
It all began with a single step.
Allow me to explain:
When I was in my early twenties, working a job that I didn’t love in a place that I didn’t know, I convinced myself one day to finally lace up my running shoes and make an attempt at a lap around the block, running.
And in that moment, I realized:
That thing that had been missing from my life and that I’d been desperately searching for to feel like I was finally on the right track? Was as simple as a little addition to my daily routine. It completely changed my life.
I’ve been running, strength training, and helping other people feel great about themselves through fitness ever since.
And from St. Louis to Louisiana and back again, running and training has been my passion. And now, my work.
Lagniappe Fitness was founded in Summer 2013.
My mission is to help other men and women find that little bit of life that’s been missing by guiding them toward a healthier lifestyle through personal training and running coaching.
I’m an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and Road Runners Club of America Certified Running Coach.
I’ve been helping men and women just like you add a little something extra to their fitness for over three years.
