Happy Monday, friends. Yes, I am a day late (and a dollar short) with the week’s internet finds. No matter, I knew what they were going to be all along, and they’re good for any day of the week.
I spent the weekend fangirling out, networking, and learning at The Fitness Summit in Kansas City. It was definitely a weekend for the books! There was a very high amount of both professional and personal development going on, and that was incredibly valuable. (Being a very shy person in a room of incredible fitness role models and other fitpros, walking up to them and saying hello? Yeah, that didn’t make me nauseous or anything.)
All that said, it’s time that you made these folks a part of your world too. I share content from many of them both in my links posts and on social media, but why not get it all straight from the source? Without further ado, and in no particular order of importance or hilarity factor, the weekend’s presenters and emcee:
Lou Schuler – Journalist, Author, and the only guy who could keep a two-day conference from dying of boredom
Tony Gentilcore – Co-Founder of Cressey SPORTS Performance and guy who can make a sci-fi tie-in for anything
Jeannine Trimboli – Founder of Real [Fit] Life and Superwoman
Dr. Mike T. Nelson – Science and tech guru and the only husband in the world who can get away with dropping the thermostat by 8 degrees without her knowledge
Pete Dupuis – Co-Founder of Cressey Sports Performance and business genius
Nick Tumminello – Owner of Performance University International and probably the most commonsense man in the fitness world
Dean Somerset – Creator of Ruthless Mobility (and other amazing products) and the David Copperfield of mobility
Dr. Susan Kleiner – Sports nutrition pioneer, Creator of Power Eating, and the lady who makes me feel great about eating all the carbs
Dr. Spencer Nadolsky – The Doc Who Lifts and the physician who is going to change the world of health by encouraging lifestyle (exercise!) before pharmaceuticals
Bret Contreras – The Glute Guy and…well, that’s really all that needs to be said there
Dr. Erika Mundinger – Physical Therapist and the girl who just wants to be your friend
Alan Aragon – Nutrition Master, Author, and staunch advocate of having a f***ing life
Outside of the presenters, make sure to check out the following awesome folks who could just as easily have been up there talking:
Jen Sinkler – Writer, Editor, Co-Owner of The Movement Minneapolis, Creator of Lift Weights Faster and pretty much the nicest chick you’ll meet
Jennifer Blake – Trainer at The Movement Minneapolis, powerlifter and all-around ball of awesomeness
Bryan Krahn – Trainer, Coach, Writer, and guy who wears t-shirts with words on them
Mark Fisher – Fitness Ninja and lover of unicorns and glitter
James Fell – Fitness writer and guy who makes me feel good about never wanting to qualify for the Boston Marathon
Well, there you have it, friends. More links than you can possibly handle, and total amazingness overload. Just trust me when I say that each link is worth your time. These peeps are the real deal.
Have a great week!
