Well, hi! How’s your week going? I hope you’ve been able to get out and enjoy some lovely Spring weather. It has been just awesome! So ready for Summer already. And I’m also ready for a workout. So if we were meeting up, I’d suggest we hit the gym today for our Sweat Date. Let’s do it.
I’d ask you how your Spring Break was first off. Where did you go? Was the weather nice? Did you get to relax? I sure hope so. Everyone deserves a break sometimes. I’d tell you how excited I am for our upcoming break. We cannot wait to get some sunshine! (Seriously, these pasty legs need it bad.) I’m pretty sure both hubby and I will be all packed two weeks before our flight leaves, ha!
Speaking of our vacation, I’d probably share with you how much of a struggle it’s been trying to find a new swimsuit. I have spent the last two months online shopping, buying, trying, exchanging, etc. What a pain in the butt. I finally settled on two cute ones, but man, what a process. And can I just say, WTF at swimsuit prices? Seriously now. $200 for less than a yard of material? Sheesh. Ever had this problem before?
I’d probably talk a little bit about how I am sticking to my running plan a little bit better in the last few weeks. Well, at least for my weekend long run. I’m back up to six miles, and it feels good. Starting in May, I plan to ratchet down the gym a little and ratchet up the running. We’ll see how it goes. It certainly gets easier when the weather is nicer! Do you like Summer running? Any races planned?
Oh, and I’d definitely mention the Happy’s 100! I can’t believe we’re already approaching 100 weeks of Happy’s Running Club in St. Louis! It is absolutely crazy how time flies. The celebration is going to be HUGE, and I have more giveaways planned than I can even count at this point. There’s plenty of time to sign up and participate in the festivities!
And finally, I’d talk about our warm-up. It’s so important to our gym workouts, as well as our runs. (I even do a version of this in my Shred415 classes!) It’s huge to get the body moving dynamically, moving through stretches and increasing mobility before adding weight or impact. I know we always do the same thing, but that’s because it’s a great thing. Just to help you do this in all your workouts, with or without me, here’s a quick video.
